I have a KX-TD 1232 with -1 firmware. Several problems.
First problem. One CO is configured with DIL to go directly to a fax
machine. A second CO is setup to ring everwhere but the extension where the
fax machine is. Sometimes calls to the second CO get picked up by the fax
machine. I reset the KSU to factory defaults and reprogrammed it and the
problem seemed to go away but after ~1 week it's returned. Does this
indicate the KSU is failing?
On this same unit I sometimes get calls to the second (non fax) CO that
don't ring at all extensions (the lamp lights but there's no ring). When
this happens I can't pickup the inbound call.
Third problem. Probably just a missing feature in the -1 firmware. If I
program *82 (enable caller ID transmit) in system speed dial strings then I
get nondeterministic behaviour. Specifically, I program 9*82xxxx (where
xxxx is the number to ring) then sometimes the call goes through, sometimes
the call fails with a message from the phone company, and sometimes the
calls goes through to a seemingly random number. Removing *82 eliminates
problems. I figured it was a timing problem and that I need to wait for
dial tone on the CO before sending the *82 but see nothing in the manuals
that lets me do that (or just delay some period of time). Is this a known
problem? (perhaps fixed in a later firmware rev) Is there a way to wait
for carrier or insert a delay in a speed dial string?
Sam
