Man, you guys rock.  It was totally the Alarm System causing the problems.
I have spent countless hours trying to figure this one out and nobody was
able to solve it.

Regarding the old prompts, I have no solution as of yet, no idea why there
is no TONE to leave a message.  All I can think of is that Ablecomm sent me
a garbage reconditioned unit.  Their service sucks!

The sequence you describe is often the signal for the security alarm modem
to answer the call.  Ringing 10 or so times will also do it.

I am interested in your last post about "old prompts".  Any more info?
