We have used the ARS feature of Panasonic. The dial '9' involkes ARS, then, depending on the digits dialed, (1+, 0+, or Nxx +), the call is routed, digits added/deleted, etc. A toll designator routes the call to the Hobics line, while Nxx routes the call to a local line (as determined by line group).
One thing we did, however, was to change and lengthen the trunk group access code. This prevents problems of people accidently bypassing the ARS, as normal 8xx dialing would bypass ARS. This also makes for a simpler installation, as you are not limited by Mitel restrictions. People do not have to dial 8 for toll, 9 for local, etc. etc. as the Pana KSU routes the calls. This was the only problem that I had with my customers - that is explaining that one access code for outside lines is all you need. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jim Gottlieb Sent: Wednesday, September 29, 2004 12:21 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: KX-T: toll restriction good enough for my customer? Hi. We have a customer that we installed a Mitel SX-10 for 20 years ago, and it's starting to have problems, so we're looking at replacing it with a Panasonic. My only concern is if the toll restriction is up to the capabilities of the SX-10. Basically, they have two different kinds of lines, so we need to have two completely different sets of toll restriction tables. One set of lines are regular POTS and the other require Dial 9, so one table needs to restrict NPAs and prefixes and the other needs to restrict with a 9 in front of those same numbers. Maybe just absorb the 9? Do any or all the current KX-TA* systems let us do this? I'll be happy to explain further if need be. Thanks... _________________________________________________________________ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt _________________________________________________________________ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt
