Thanks for your replies.
I have already talked to the contractor about this matter (re: training and manuals) His reply is no since he feels we would just disrupt the operations of the PABX. No matter what explaining is done, even my holding a license as an Electroninc and Communications Engineer (having worked with a telecoms firm and having handled HICOM, LUCENT and ALCATEL ePBX) against his being a Civil Engineer, he still is adamant in turning over the admnistration of the system to us. Personally I think his possible loss of income is imminent if he turns it over to us (he charges PHP2500 or about USD50 per visit).
Hence the reason for this request thread for link to the programming/management guide for the KX-TD500 Manuals.
Just to give you an idea what needs to be done asap (just in case any one out there could help me out by giving me the procedures):
a. Program the PBX to enable certain extensions to be allowed to make Long Distance calls.
b. Setup Call detail recording to PC for charging of calls as well as call monitoring
c. enable or disable the timer on several phones (i.e. the system is configured to disconnect any call after 5 minutes (incoming or ourgoing). Some Phones need this feature enabled/disabled from time to time.)
Again Thank you for all your replies and thanks in advance for your assistance.
Respectfully,
Benito Antonio Bajuyo System Administrator Ciudad Medical Zamboanga

The manual is of little use with the KX-TD500, as only a very few programs can be done from the telephone. You need the actual programming software, and an understanding of how it is programmed. The KX-TD500 uses "group" programming and you must have a clear understanding of it.
Ask your contractor for the programming software and a training course on how to use it. Considering his unavailability to service you in an expedient manner, this may provide a resolution. Failing that, find some else that can provide local service.
Better still, have a modem card installed and him him dial in to make changes.
It he cannot provide reasonable support, he should not be selling an awesome
product such as Panasonic.

Hi All,
I am the unfortunate inheritor of a KX-TD500 PBX in my workplace.
The installer/contractor has not fully turned over the equipment to us. For any management and reconfiguration, the contractor has to be called in. The problem here is that the contractor at time spend weeks in Manila, and for any system additions and changes, we have to wait until he returns, at time months after.
I would like to inquire if there is any available PDF on operating and programming the PBX for download.
Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
