The Quick set up functions must be done via a terminal program and a
RS232 cable. You can get them VERY inexpensively on Ebay. Just look here,

I went a similar route 2 years ago with a TVS200. The Fujitsu drive
worked but was extremely noisy. You are hearing spindle bearing
noise. I do not think the HD has much life left. I replaced the HD
with a new Western Digital which I purchased from:

Mike Karaman - President Ext. 112 of The Phone Network
Call (910) 222-1234.

If you look at the manual, the TVS 75 like the TVS 100, 200, 300,
125, 225, 325 etc are only highly compatible with Panasonic Digital
phone systems (TDA) which uses DPITS aka DPT technology. The
KX-TA824 is a Analog system which uses APITS aka APT technology to
communicate. The only voice mail systems which use APITS or APT is
the TVS50 and the TVA50 (current product, and same age as the TVA824
PBX). You'll only be able to use IN BAND integration at best between
the TVS75 and TVA824 using DTMF tones. A lot of the features listed
on the brochure of the TVS75 just won't be available to you. I saved
my money and purchased a TVA50, and I am so glad I did, no hard drive
to wear out, USB interface, Caller ID re-routing to extensions, LCS
(Live Call Screening) which means proprietary Panasonic are like a
answering machine (when a person leaves a message, you can screen the
calls and pickup) if you want to speak with the person. Lighting
fast interfacing when the Auto Attendant transfers calls, handles
voice mail transfers etc. It also announces the Caller ID number of
the caller came from after the voice mail message. You can use the
original English voice, The Canadian English voice (which I use
because she speaks much slower) or the English UK voice which is a
real kick. The list goes on and on. I ended up originally spending
$180.00 for the used TVS200, another $275.00 for a new HD with V4.56
software (TVS225 software), a analog interface board TVS102 for In
band integration which was another $99.00 for a used card. It had a
TVS204 which is for digital phone systems only. It may seem like a
lot of fun to tinker with it, but it really has very limited features
when using the In band DTMF interface for the PBX and VPS to
communicate with each other. The TVS75 is from the year 2001 I
believe. It's almost 7 year old technology.

I just don't want you to go through the same difficult learning curve
I did. I paid $448.00 for a new TVA50 with Version 1.1 and by the
grace of the KXT list was given the link to the latest software
(V2.0) for the TVA50.

Sincerely
