That sort of puts it into the co camp then. If you are able to verify that the ksu has good audio, but the caller cannot hear, then we have to look at the co lines.
What type of trunks do you have? Cable, FIOS, Verizon pots, T1 with a channel bank...? The fact that it is 1, 3, and 5 makes it really an odd problem (haha) but makes me wonder if the lines are coming through some other circuitry. I've often found bad lightning protectors doing weird things to lines. If they are POTS lines, what type of protectors are on the lines? If they have plug in modules, you can often swap modules and see if the problems change with the protectors. Also, since it is intermittent, look for any machinery or electric devices that may be in the vicinity that could cause problems. If you still think there may be something in the ksu causing problems, I would first do a backup of the software, then re-initialize it and test the lines before uploading the software again. (hopefully the problem is frequent enough to be able to test it prior to reloading the backup- a software glitch could hide in the backup, thus requiring reprogramming). If it is a -7, the roms are the same as a -6, and they may even work in a -5, but I would have to verify that. You should be able to get a -6 on ebay fairly cheap. But your recent test seems to point to the co lines. Charles Charles Patterson [email protected] Patterson Communications, Inc.
