Hello,
>I'm replacing a Panasonic 616 that has 6 lines and 7 ext's with a 1232 that
I just picked up. I'm trying to do some planning before I get the
installation manual.
>1. If all my present phones are analog and I use a 3rd party software to
program the 1232, do I still need at least one digital system phone?
No, you needn't. It's enough to use only Programmator to program 1232.
>2. On my 616 all the incoming lines plug in RJ's, one for each line. On
the 1232 the incoming CO's are marked with two lines for each incoming CO,
will each RJ be feed by 2 incoming CO's.
Yes, it will
>3. On my 616 each ext is plugged into an RJ, on the 1232 there are no RJ
jacks for this purpose, but only 2 Amphenol jacks with each jack serving a
group of extenstions. Will I need a special cable to plug my ext's into.
You need 25 pair Amphenol cable.
>4. I have a KXTD50 voice mail, I assume it also will plug into one of the
jacks I mentioned in #3 above.
Yes, you need amphenol connector from PBX side and RJ from TVS side.
