Hyperterminal lets you capture and log data. All you need to do is click on
"Transfer" in the Hyperterminal tool bar, then you have a choice of
capturing the input data to a file, (Capture Text...) or else sending it to
a printer (Capture to Printer). After you initiate it, you can then
minimize Hyperterminal to and let it run in the background.

I also use hyperterminal for capturing. I go another step and import the
data into MS Access and get telemarketer/ sales reps activity logs.
the computer is also still free to run the background music throught he sound
card as a mp3 file :)
