I am not really angry but I am wondering and wanted to raise again more awareness. > How can I test the technical correctness myself? What tool do I need? A changed source word count should not happen, if somebody think there is an error, we should create an issue for it. This kind of problems have to be fixed in the sources directly and not in Pootle where it is useless. I use the gsicheck tool that is built during a normal build. But it works on sdf files > > Looking for XML errors in Pootle is no option, because there are very, > very often <emph>..</emph> parts in the text, where emphasis is needed > in German, but not in English, and English do not have this elements. I have no good idea and in the future we can hopefully find a better approach to detect such errors earlier. But I think Pootle gives at least a hint when xml tags are mismatched. Double check the translation probably helps here. Errors are no problem, we can fix them but the changing word count is strange and I don't know in which state the po files or the translations are really are.
