In Lithuanian, we actually do translate the names of the constituent
applications. Moreover, there is a direct linguistic tie between the
name of a given application and its respective document type, for
instance, "rašyklė" stands for "writer" and "rašinys" for "text
document"; or, to give another example, "braižyklė" stands for "draw"
and "brėžinys" for "draw document."

This is what most languages do (i.e., "OpenOffice" and the application
names are untranslated).
