It is useful to check what other languages do in these cases.
German translates as "Fldr|Neuer Ordner". Italian translates as
"Fldr|Nuova cartella". So in both cases we leave "Fldr|" unchanged and
we translate the rest. You should do the same.
Is the mailing list the right place to report English (original language)
issues, or should we use Bugzilla?

The website refers all languages to
Bugzilla's "Native-lang" Product, with no place to report EN.
English strings are managed with different processes, so indeed errors
in English strings should be reported under "General" - "ui". If there
is a page to be clarified, just let us know.
