Little help, please

Hello,
I want to see how looks my translate in vivo. So, I want to download from
Pootle translated files for UI and Help. What file I must download (there
is (on Pootle): "Download" and "Download XLIFF"). Second, where to store
this files to see in my computer, when opens OpenOffice, translated version?
Next, what application is good for translating (without Pootle)?
