I see that differently!
With "Insert Footnote/Endnote" you open a dialog.
With "Insert Footnote Directly" the footnote is inserted directly
without a dialog.
Therefore the wording "Directly" isn't superflous.

BTW, this is analog to "Insert Endnote Directly"
