You might like PuppyLinux. For me it realizes subliminal speeds for most small programs (though naturally not for Firefox). - http://www.puppylinux.com/download/index.html The only reason that I don't use it is that it doesn't offer all the programs I need - but where's the difference between Puppy and Win3.11 in that? :) But I have it on a USB stick as backup system (and for the times when I want to experience again how computing should feel - someday I'll put /usr /var /lib /bin and /sbin on tmpfs, rsync on boot and shutdown and deactivate swap - I just need a few more Gigs of Ram).
