But only if we can make the project big and glamourous, so it says "the Hurd really shows that XYZ can be used for major/low-level/whatever tasks". But as you said: We don't have to fix on one language. It's only a matter of deciding which dependencies we want for the basic Hurd - which also afects the minimum size of a Hurd distribution (interesting for example for embedded stuff).
