Dear Pacifica Friends: I'm running for Los Angeles City Council, 4th District, for the seat vacated by the passing of the city council president John Ferraro. I have been a supporter of the Free Pacifica movement for many years starting from when I was Executive Director of ADA and through my time as Coordinator of the LA Greens. I am also a member of the LA Green Party County Council. Aside from support for a democratically elected board, I also support neighborhood councils with real decision making power, saving all of Ballona and creating more open space; instant runoff voting; affordable housing and a repeal of the Costa Hawkins Act that allows landlords to subvert rent control through rehab; night time city council meetings and child care for those who need it so they can attend our hearings; greater accountability of Pacifica and greater accountability of City Hall and much more.
