JELLO BIAFRA SPEAKS UP AT UNUSUAL POLITICAL FUNDRAISER

LOS ANGELES - Fat cats, sit back, angel-headed hipsters rule the
flesh-press roost tonight.

Former lead singer of the Dead Kennedys Jello Biafra headlines an unusual
campaign fundraiser Sunday, July 29, with an afternoon of spoken wordsmith
and verbal diatribes. From 4-7pm at the Knitting Factory (7021 Hollywood
Blvd.), Biafra and comedians Patton Oswalt (King of Queens, HBO), spoken
word artist Bob Forrest (Thelonious Monster) Jenica Bergere (Drew Carey)
and a few surprise guests will "Stand Up For Denise" and raise money for
the Denise Munro Robb for City Council campaign.

Robb is running in the fourth district special election September 11 after
John Ferraro's death left the seat vacant. Robb, the only candidate
refusing corporate and developer contributions, sought creative help for
her political quest. Talent like Biafra, Oswalt, Forrest and Bergere are
happy to help. In addition to her independent spirit, they like her
Tenant's Bill of Rights, support of a Living Wage and affordable housing;
her plan to re-green the L.A. River; pass a Tenant's Bill of Rights; and
her mission to restore real voting power for neighborhood councils.
Denise has been endorsed by Ralph Nader, singer Bonnie Raitt, author Mike
Davis, and many others.

"Jello's progressive political views are as well known as his creative
work," notes Denise Munro Robb. "We believe his reputation will attract
people sympathetic to the ideas of our campaign."

Jello Biafra is no stranger to politics himself. After muckraking for
years, he was second only to Ralph Nader in obtaining the Green Party
nomination for President in 2000.

Join the spoken-word and stand-up comedy benefit Sunday, July 29 from
4pm-7pm at 7021 Hollywood Blvd. For more information, contact campaign
manager Bill Cody at (323) 496-9785; the Knitting Factory 323-463-0204;

access, contact Joe Zefran at (323) 930-1971 or the campaign office.
