The Fight for Educational Justice is a Fight Against Capitalism! Education and the Movement For Social Transformation: A Forum about the New UTLA Leadership and the Struggle Against the Neo-Liberal Agenda in the Public Schools War is being waged in our schools against poor working class children of color. The war and occupation of Iraq reflects the open and brutal face of US imperialism, and Katrina the domestic racism of capitalism, the ruling elite are trying to implement a racist neo-liberal agenda in public education: military recruiters grabbing our children for military adventures like Iraq, racist and culturally biased standardized tests, the undemocratic takeover of "problem" schools, elimination of bilingual education, vouchers and privatization are all part of a strategy to provide cheap labor for a restructured service-based economy and recruits for military adventures like Iraq. Join us for a conversation about building a social movement for educational justice and for a fundamental transformation of US society.
