IRAQ CONFIDENTIAL: The Untold Story of the Intelligence Conspiracy to
Undermine the UN and Overthrow Saddam Hussein

By Scott Ritter
With Foreword by Seymour Hersh
Published by Nation Books
IRAQ CONFIDENTIAL is a dramatic exposé of intelligence espionage by a
staunch U.S. patriot who the CIA wanted to silence. Scott Ritter¹s
first-hand account reveals in detail how the CIA manipulated and
sabotaged the work of UN departments to achieve the United States¹s
hidden foreign policy agenda in the Middle East. Iraq Confidential is an
astonishing revelation of the CIA¹s imperial arrogance.

After the 1991 Gulf War, Scott Ritter helped lead the UN weapons
inspections in Iraq and found himself at the center of a dangerous game
between the Iraqi and US regimes. Operating in a fog of espionage and
counter-espionage, Ritter and his team were determined to find out the
truth about Iraq¹s WMD. The CIA was equally determined to stop them.

We now know that Iraq was playing a deadly bluffing game and actually
had no WMD. But whoever revealed this truth would have derailed
America¹s drive for regime change and made a mockery of our country¹s
highest officials.

Scott Ritter was the UN's top weapons inspector in Iraq between 1991 and
1998. Before working for the UN he served as an officer in the US
Marines and as a ballistic missile adviser to General Schwarzkopf in the
first Gulf war.

Seymour Hersh is a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist
currently writing for the New Yorker. In his long and distinguished
career he has been the first to expose many of the major scandals in US
foreign policy, from the May Lai massacre in Vietnam to Abu Ghraib.

Lila Garrett is the host of "Connect the Dots," which airs every Monday
morning on Pacifica's KPFK in Los Angeles from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM. She
is the former president of Southern California Americans for Democratic
Action and the founder and co-chair of Americans Against the War in
Iraq, which placed the first ads against the war in the New York Times
and Los Angeles Times.
