You might have seen the announcement for this event on a few of the poetry lists, but we want to personally invite you and also ask for your help in promoting it. It's truly a labor of love. Though we hope you all can attend (see attached flier), we are still seeking donations for the silent auction. Books, cool memorabilia, art, handcrafted items, or services (editing, workshops, etc) are welcome. If doens't have to be a 100% donation as we would be happy to accept a percentage of the sales price. We're really hoping this is a success, because if we manage to raise any cash we're sending it to my friend, Lovey Two Bulls, who lives on the Pine Ridge Reservation in icy South Dakota. Lovey has become a "go to" person for those needing help getting electric and propane bills turned back on, winter clothes for the children, maybe a Christmas present for some of the kids who won't otherwise get anything. And she does this despite her own and family members' health problems (her husband is a parapalegic). Aire has sent her all my extra money last year, (and I recently sent a donation) but this year especially, we're hoping some of our friends in the arts community will help, especially if we offer them an entertaining evening.
