#1 Int'l Women's Day at Orange Circle Wednesday, March 8th
From: "Kathy Hundemer" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Celebrate International Women's Day!
Wednesday March 8, 2006
With a Women's Call for Peace!
(all men and children welcome too!)
Orange County Participation & Rally
Time: 5:00 - 7:00 PM
Location: Traffic Circle, Old Towne Orange
(at the Intersection of Chapman Ave. & Glassell St. off the
22 and 55 Freeways)
Let us all come together to show the people of Orange County
the power of women to end the war in Iraq! This event will
be held in solidarity with other major women's rallies
worldwide on March 8th!
International Women's Day is a time to reflect on progress
made, to call for advances, and to celebrate acts of courage
and determination by ordinary women who have played an
extraordinary role in the history of women's rights.
In the United States, International Women's Day is barely
known, so let us revive the tradition of using March 8 as a
day to gather women together to call for peace, justice and
equal rights for all.
This Event Is Co-Sponsored By:
Code Pink Orange County Chapter
Orange County Chapter of the National Organization for Women
This Event is Endorsed by:
Women For Orange County
Pro-Choice, Orange County
CSU Fullerton Third Wave
American Association of University Women, Orange Branch

Reminder to all those that yearn for freedom now. We have
been showing progressive videos to the residents of
Huntington Beach since November 2000. Bring a film that
you feel we should see and the group votes on it. We have
vegan snacks and a wide selection of videos and DVDs that
you can borrow to show to more of your riends and neighbors.
Next video night is Thursday, March 30th at 7pm. We watch
a video/dvd share some food and talk about how we feel after.
The Clubhouse is at the corner of Modale and Chapel in
Huntington Beach. There is no address but there are directions
at the end of this email and at the website also found at the

It is not just about ending the illegal war in Iraq.
If you would like to come and bring something let me know so
we can plan the next meeting.
We can always use help with outreach and setup.

We have decided to move our serving day and free
Market to Saturday, as opposed to Sunday. San
Clemente Food Not Bombs, will be serving in Max Berg

Some new projects within San Clemente Food Not
Bombs have been:
providing clothes, house supplies, appliances, and anything
else donated that would be of use to the lower income families
which we work with in our community.
Books Not Bombs. BNB collects and redistrubutes reading
material, preferably progressive and historical writings,
and offers them to the community at no cost. BNB looks to
collect, among others, childrens books to be distrubuted to
Las Palmas Elememtary School, located across from the
park which SCFNB serves at.
Finally, SCFNB has begun a small collection of youth working

#7 Every Sunday evening in Huntington Beach:
"Peace vigil every Sunday night at the foot of the
Huntington Beach Pier, 7-8 pm
It's hard for most people to imagine a world at peace.
We are a very small group of people who believe that
this is indeed possible and that peace will happen once
enough people believe that it can. So we stand at the
pier every Sunday night with a sign that says:
"Visualize World Peace. It's up to you".
We also believe in non-violence both physically
and in our thoughts. We will discuss peace and
non-violence with anyone who is rational and
smile quietly at those who aren't. We hold this vigil
in a spirit of dignity and respect for all as we try
to build bridges with those who don't share our
philosophy.
Please bring a candle or just help us hold up our
banner (no signs please; we have our banner!)
