‘Zionism’

Hajo Meyer, an author, political activist and Auschwitz concentration camp
survivor, compared Israel’s relations with the Palestinians to Nazi
relations with Jews during the Holocaust at a conference held at Emory on
Wednesday.

Dr. Meyer remains determined to deliver message despite Zionists’ desperate
attacks during his US 16-city Tour...

Please join Dr. Hajo Meyer in sharing the lesson of his experience in
Auschwitz: Never Again for Anyone. Dr. Meyer will be joined by Osama
Abu-Irshaid of the American Muslims for Palestine to discuss the urgency of
this message in the United States today. The event will be MC'd by
progressive activists and former Congressional candidate Marcy Winograd.

In the face of the on-going ethnic cleansing of Palestine, attacks and
persecution of Muslim and Arab communities in the U.S. and Canada, as well
as on-going attacks against the rights of immigrants, and those dispossessed
of land & livelihood, we assert a commitment to our collective humanity. We
stand against the notion that “never again” be applied to some & not all.

Channing Hall is fully wheelchair accessible, but we regret that church
restrooms require one to walk a few steps.

Holocaust survivor Hajo Meyer remains determined to deliver message despite
Zionists’ desperate attacks

Holocaust survivor Hajo Meyer remains undaunted, in delivering his message
of hope to honor those who perished in the Holocaust by upholding human
rights for all people, despite verbal attacks by Zionists, who are resorting
to insults and intimidation to silence open discussions about racist Israeli
policies.

The protestors, who decried Hajo’s experience surviving 10 months in the
Auschwitz death camp, are being spurred on by action alerts from national
Zionist organizations whose track records show a willingness to ignore First
Amendment protections when it comes to criticizing Israel policies. These
include the Anti-Defamation League

Organization of America

, Stand With Us, and Hillel. Right-wing and anti-Islam bloggers David
Horowitz

who got her 15 minutes of fame by condemning the Park51 Mosque in New York,
also have taken an active role in trying to disrupt the nationwide Never
Again for Anyone tour.

In Southfield, MI, on Sunday, protestors interrupted Hajo’s speech demanding
he show them the number Nazis tattooed on his arm and asking him if he were
“really a Jew.” This action came just a few days after several Zionist
protesters, encouraged by Gellar
<http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2011/01/barring-jews-at-rut
gers-university.html> , the Jewish Federation and others, turned out in
attempts to disrupt the event at Rutgers University on Jan. 29. (See video
of Rutgers Hillel students thanking Gellar here

“Some people think I would be saddened when I am accused of fabricating my
experience as a Holocaust survivor, but nothing could be further from the
truth,” Hajo said. “I am outraged. I am outraged that the life-affirming
tenants of Judaism have been usurped by those who would exploit the memory
of Nazi tyranny to oppress at the Palestinian people. As a survivor of the
Holocaust, I am so angry that Zionists and those who support illegal and
racist Israeli policy apply our call of ‘Never Again’ to just a few when
what we need to be saying is ‘Never Again for Anyone.’”

Organizers of the Never Again for Anyone campaign point out that open
educational discussions are more important than ever, given the divisive
atmosphere in current American politics, the wave of anti-Islam sentiment
gripping the country as well as the mass demonstrations for freedom and
liberty taking place in the Middle East.

In the course of trying to stifle debate at Rutgers, protesters ended up
intimidating event participants <http://www.forward.com/articles/135148/>
including Hillel members, who were afraid to leave the lecture hall because
of the ferocity of the protesters outside. Also, Rutgers University police

situation as volatile as the Zionist protesters, who harassed

students.

In the end, however, the university has confirmed

lock the doors excluding many interested participants.
