October 13 at 7 PM, Carlos Alberto Torres, ex-carcerated Puerto Rican political 
prisoner, will speak at the Southern California Library, 6120 S. Vermont 
between 
Slauson and Gage, on behalf of the campaign to free Oscar Lopez Rivera, held in 
US prisons for 30 years for his actions and advocacy on behalf of Puerto Rican 
independence. The event is part of a West Coast by Torres initiated by the 
Boricua Human Rights Network, and sponsored locally by the Puerto Rican

speaking engagements in Santa Barbara, San Francisco, and Portland on the same
