Lee Siu Hin: Passing of My Father Journey to My Home--China 2012
>From my Dalian, China..middle of my China-US solidarity working trip 2012...it was sad that my father was passed away last Saturday morning, July 14 at Tianjin hospital after long illness. He was 84. I was in Shanghai middle of my activism work when he died, I didn't had last chance to see him, I quickly return to my home and attended his funereal at Monday July 16. My father was relatively famous person, 70 long years of history of activism and business works across China and Japan with many friends and large family, yet his funeral was intentionally very small--only less then 20 people attended. It was my family tradition to keep everything very simple and low profile. I'll be returning to my Tianjin's home with my mother to commemorate my father's 1st week of death (the so-called "头七" in Chinese), the Chinese custom for the love one to commemorate love one's death weekly (2nd week of death, 3rd week of death, and so on) until the 7th week. While it's sad for my father's death, but injustice never sleeps, I cannot stop my work--the war and injustice continue around the World, the steady rise of China's pro-US right-wingers are influencing our country, US war on Iraq, Afghanistan; the US-NATO-Middle East-Arab Union invasion and destruction against Lybia; the war drum against Iran, Syria, North Korea;, and CIA/NED political/covert actions undermine against many other countries in South America, middle east and the Africa...NOT UNTIL wars in Africa, south America, Asia, Iraq, Palestine & Korea with sweatshops in Asia as well as in Los Angeles, New York; international arm sales and WTO, FTAA, NAFTA & CAFTA with AIDS, hunger, child labors and child solider; multinational corporations and economic exploitation with racism and poverty at home CAN BE STOP--we win the struggle, I can finally rest. And it could be the best commemoration for my father, grandparents and many other friends now in heaven.
