Pico Blvd., just 2 blocks west of Western Avenue).* *Disabled Accessible.* *This meeting's Agenda to include:* *Please See Notes from the Last Meeting (attached as an MS Word doc).* *Original Call to Form the Committee: We are inviting all *parties who helped organize May Day 2012 (M1GS, immigrants rights marches, etc) and all interested community members/organizations to come help build a strike committee for May, 2013. With continued attacks on working people and nothing on offer but political candidates threatening varying levels of austerity, its a crucial time for all community groups, Left organizations, and militant labor unions to band together to flex our collective strength as workers and as members of the 99%. With one year to prepare, we just might be able to organize a genuine General Strike for 2013, involving large numbers of workers from multiple industriesunionized and otherwisewalking off the job, whether sanctioned by union bosses or in true wildcat form. We realize that this is a lofty goal, but with economic and political conditions as dire as they are, we have no choice but to try. And as Wisconsin, the Arab Spring, and the Occupy Movement have recently reminded us, people everywhere are fed up and ready for change. The impossible is starting to look more and more possible.
