That event coincided with the beginning of construction of the separation fence in his West Bank village of Bil'in. Because the Zionist plan would result in the confiscation of 50% of the villagers' land, as it would in many other villages, a popular resistance movement emerged in Bil'in. Burnat began documenting the struggle for the movement and gradually his footage was widely used by international media. He began working as a freelance photographer for Reuters and provided footage for other film projects. Over the years and as his son grew, five cameras were broken in seperate violent attacks on the villagers' resistance by Israeli military forces. In 2009, progressive Israeli filmaker Guy Davidi joined with Burnat and together they tell the story of the resistance movement by telling the story of five broken cameras. www.imdb.com/title/tt2125423 powered by phplist <http://www.phplist.com> v 2.10.18, © phpList ltd <http://www.phplist.com/poweredby> [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- LAAMN: Los Angeles Alternative Media Network --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe: <mailto:[email protected]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe: <mailto:[email protected]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Digest: <mailto:[email protected]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Help: <mailto:[email protected]?subject=laamn> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post: <mailto:[email protected]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archive1: <http://www.egroups.com/messages/laamn> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archive2: <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yahoo!
