Please get these materials out start sending in your letters of support as soon as possible. SB 283<http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201320140SB283&search_keywords=>( Hancock <http://sd09.senate.ca.gov/>) would allow individuals, previously convicted of a drug felony, who meet all other eligibility rules, to receive basic needs services, employment training and work supports through the California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) and CalFresh programs, provided that they are complying with the conditions of probation or parole, or have successfully completed their probation or parole. This bill is co-sponsored by Western Center, the County Welfare Directors Association of California and Drug Policy Alliance.
