Data tracked in real time - 24 hour run time, reset once a day usually in the early morning hours - 6 samples are taken every hour - The scale is 0-1000 Rad Counts - The 'normal range' at Pacifica Station is 250-350 counts per 10 minute sample (25-35 CPM)
http://pacificastation.net/ This detector is located inside a residence 2.5 miles due east from the Pacific Ocean (at A on map). Elevation is ~500 ft. (The website has a Google map showing location of the Geiger counter.) The radiation detector is mil-spec but unsophisticated. We can only hope to catch a shift in background levels of monitored space and the use of CPM as a reference is the best method with the type of equipment available to the private community.
