Congrats on your new dog! I thought I'd take that as an opportunity to
introduce myself. I just joined the group because we're expecting our
Goldendoodle puppy to arrive on Weds:) We are very excited and trying to get
ready. Actually, at this point I'm having equal parts of excitement and "oh my
gosh, what were we thinking??" while looking over all the non-puppy proofed
things all over the house.
Anyone have any pointers to offer on pup's first weeks at home? He will be
just 8 weeks when he arrives. We will be crate training, which I've never done
before. In fact, it's been 15 years since I had a puppy in the house.
Thanks so much!
Regards, Laurie

He was a shelter rescue according to his foster mom. He had been
brought in by a breeder. Shelter person wouldn't say who. Breeder
didn't think anyone would buy him because he was 4 months old and
black. Foster Mom kept him for 9 Mo. and decided if she was to
continue doing rescues she had to find him a home. He's the greatest
dog I've ever owned as well as the smartest! I researched the breed
extensively before trying to find one and I got so lucky! He's about
60 pounds and has longer wavy hair. Doesn't shed. Is so gentle with
toddlers it's unbelieveable. We sure do love him. He's the light of
our life and gives us more joy and love than you can even imagine!
