Studies have shown that when there are two dogs of the same age raised together, the chances of one of them becoming aggressive to other dogs and people greatly increases. As a dog trainer and behaviorist, I always recommend that people never have dogs that are within 8 months of age and preferably 1 year age difference. As a breeder I would never sell littermates to the same family to be raised together. I could also go into the whole bonding thing, but my recommendation is not to raise two dogs of the same age together, size, sex, breed, does not matter.
If you acquire an adult dog from a shelter, rescue or friend, and then introduce it into your household where another adult dog is already living, more information is needed.
Of course, this is just my opinion, but it is based on history and study with well know dog behaviorists.
I do currently have a litter of nice standard poodles, which are in Idaho, but can be delivered to other states. They will be old enough to leave about April 1.
I may also have a one year old 1st generation doodle (black with silver streaks - wavy coat) that needs a pet home. He has been raised as a service dog in training, but is too high energy for our client base. He is very affectionate, but needs lots of room to run and play and would be best in a home with people who have good dog experience.
