Yes, she is clipping him like a big Lhasa Apso. 
Because doodles aren't suppose to look like any
particular breed groomers groom them all sorts of
different ways.  I would have him clipped all over, he
wouldn't have such a big round head then.  

Most get groomed like Wheaton terriers.
