Hi everyone! I'm new and had posted an introduction but never saw it
come through.

I live on Long Island and have a 5 month labradoodle named Zoey. She
had her first grooming today and I'm rather sad- she looks so... bald.
The groomer said she had some matting and she had to clip her closer
than she wanted to.

I brush her every day and was aware of a little matting on her legs
that I was working on, but I didn't think it would be necessary to do
what the groomer did. To avoid this in the future, I think I would
just rather groom her myself. Any advice on the best way to learn? I'm
not completely ignorant. I used to clip horses for shows- I just have
no experience with high maintenance dogs.

Best,
Susan
