Hi Susan,

I completely understand how you feel! When we got our goldendoodle Bailey
groomed for the first time it was very close, also the matting issue. We
really haven't had much trouble with our labradoodle, Charlie. Just give it
about 3/4 weeks and she'll look great!! Actually, my husband decided to clip
Bailey and has been doing a fabulous job for the last 6 months. For us it's a
2 person job, Bailey doesn't fight it anymore, but just keeping him in one spot
is sometimes tough.
The secret we've learned it to clip some, play some, clip some more, play some
more, etc. It takes longer but Bailey enjoys it more. I'm not certain how
Zoey's coat is but what we use is the Andis pet clipper and he uses the #3
blade. Our dogs are in the lake a lot so now we trim Bailey about once a
month and it seems to be working well for both of us. This time of year we
keep it shorter than we do in the cooler weather. Good luck!!
