How long do you confine him? Puppies need exercise! If everytime he gets
roudy you lock him up he will hate the crate........What were his parents like?
Calm or wired? What did the breeder say about his temperment when you bought
him.

Have you started obedience classes yet?

Nipping can be stopped by a firm hand gently over the muzzel and a stern NO
BITE. OR you can chuck him under the chin with a closed fist gently. Rarely
do any of my puppies bite when they go home. I have that corrected before they
leave my home aby 8 weeks of age.

PRAISE good behavior, ignore bad if possible. Teach your kids no eye contact
and to turn their back on the dog and stand like a statue when he jumps and
nips.......

BUT when he is good like sitting quitely you MUST be deligent with lots of
praise......

  so much one can do....

I LOVE short nosed doodles, more labby noses actually.......NOt the long
poodle nose....
You may be lucky in that your pup will look more lab like or cocker like in
the face. What generation is he?

hi I am new to this site and am hoping for some advice and input from
all you labradoodle
owners. I have a 3 month old chocolate labradoodle puppy. He has a beautiful
wavy fleece
coat that is growing by the week. But it seems the muzzle is the last to grow.
Did you all
find that this area grows slower? He looks a little odd right now because of
this.

Also, i never in a million years realized how hard the puppy stage is. I am
trying to do
everything right but I am ready to pull my hair out regularly. Firstly, i am
trying crate training
because i have read and spoke to so many people who have recommended it. But
when I do
let him have some free time in the house he bites and bites and bites, or nips
and nips and
nips. we can't even play with him without him nipping constantly. I end up
having to put
him behind a gate away from the children because they can't sit for a second
without him
running up and biting at them. I have tried spraying bitter apple all over my
son whose 3.
He has holes in every pair of pjs. I want to have a great time with this dog,
but when can i
let him out of any sort of "confinement" without him being crazy? any
suggestions or similar
frustrations? thanks
