There's a quilting list I'm on; this has split into not two but three separate entities, and it works very well.
There's the main list, for technical stuff (like Lace), there's the Off-Topic list for gossip (like Lace-Chat), and there's the "Swap" list for all swaps, raffles, adverts etc which aren't allowed on the other two. People can advertise all they want on the swap list, and it gets really interesting sometimes. And if you don't want to read adverts you just don't subscribe to that list. Simple. I wonder if it's worth suggesting that extra split here? I know some people here feel strongly on both sides of the fence ...
