No it didn't. Don't remember the dates, but we had a quite a few days or torrential rain. One afternoon I drove over to Bournemouth (only about 7 miles) to get a new bulb for my sewing machine. Everything was fine on the way out and I got the bulb with no problem. Just started to drive home, and the heavens opened. The windscreen wipers wouldn't clear the windscreen even on their fastest wipe. Traffic came to a standstill because visibility was nil, and the roads instantly flooded making some parts of the road home almost impassable. Took me nearly an hour to get home instead of fifteen minutes. Then there were several nights when it just fell down all night. Trouble is that even where I live, and in winter the water table is actually above the surface of my back garden, the water has soaked away or evaporated. So everywhere's very dry again.
