Hi All, That made me think of a recent dinner where I did read by
candlelight. I recently visited my parents on the west coast of the US
(sorry I didn't get to see any Oregon arachnes!). DH stayed home so
I got to dine by myself when I stayed in a hotel over night (early flight).
I chose the dining room rather than the sports bar <G>. The dining room did
have ambient light but it was pretty dim so I moved the candle on the table
a little closer and I could read just fine. As Joy Beeson wrote you just
need more than one candle.

Mrs. Pollifax (in mysteries by Dorothy Gilman) makes a great dinner
companion!

Jane in Vermont, USA where the deep green of the leaves is getting tinged
with the autumn colors. But I'm not ready for that yet!!
