In Lace, Robin P. says >I don't know, Ilske. To embroiderers (and some lacemakers), the frog stitch >is *undoing* your work (rippit, rippit). So isn't a "lace frog" someone who >has to unlace a lot?
Reminds me of an old, old joke. A librarian was started to see a hen come into the library, up to her counter, and go "Booooook, book, book, book" So she gave it a book. The hen tucked the book under a wing and strutted out. Five minutes later, the hen was back, dumped the book on the counter, and again cried "Booooook, book, book, book" So she gave it another book. Five minutes later the hen was back again. This went on for some time, until in the end the librarian followed the hen to see what it was doing with the book. The hen walked down to the local pond. She dumped the book on a lily paid in front of a frog, who said "Readit, readit".
