It is the duty of every adult to deride backward hats at every opportunity,
mock the young boys, and assert that such foolishness is a sure sign that
they are on the road to perdition.
Right on! Thank you, Joy :)
Both my stepsons had, the moment they were out of highschool (which didn't permit such), grown their hair to the shoulders. Bothered my DH no end. They both outgrew it by the time they were in their early 20ties; one of them because his genes dictated that he should be "bare on top", and the other because he entered the business world, which was hostile to such exuberance.
At 17, the moment *he* was out of highschool (20+ yrs after my stepsons), my son grew his hair to his shoulders... At 21, having graduated from college, he too entered the business world. But it's a "geeky business" (he works for Sun Microsystems), and the business world has changed; at 26+, his hair is *still* shoulder-length... A couple of years ago, DH said something about "you could, maybe, cut your hair when you come home for Christmas". Danek's alternative suggestion was that he could dye a third of the pony tail red, and a third green; plaited, it would would be an even more suitable celebration (his natural colour being golden). I laughed so hard, I nearly cried. Because he might have done it, too, if pushed, and yet, *where's the harm*?
