One gift I was given (some 40 years ago and newly married) was from my 
brother (a young, single male with car insurance due Dec. 1) it was a 
machine made lace table cloth, round and probably the smallest size.  I 
still have it and use it on occasion even if my table is larger now.  I 
believe the next year he gave me a nice wooden plaque clock, it is hanging 
above the computer as I write this.
