I find it interesting that green seems to damage thread. I had always assumed, in my totally non-scientific way, that the darker the colour the more damage to the thread which is why I was so surprised that the purple didn't break. But, I suppose, given my scientific education ended at the age of 14 I know nothing about these things :-)
