Dear Vasna,

I definitely think it is Burano. There is a Windows XP trick you can use to see the
the detail better. Right click on a detail picture (in this case not quite as
detailed as I would like). Select "Set as Background" from the popup menu. Then
Windows will do all the magic to enlarge the picture and let you see more detail.

The net is very square which is an indication of the Burano needlelace because they
typically worked the net tighter than other needlelaces. I can also just make out
that the cordonnet is only whipped, not buttonholed. Together, all these things spell
Burano.

This is handmade needlelace in a large wearable collar about 100 years old. The
current bid is ~$40, that's a great price. But I won't bid against you!

Jane Viking Swanson! Are you out there? Dahlink, you must check out this
huge and gorgeous b-berg TENT (aka tablecloth/bedspread/house cover). Kind
of thick tapes, but the sheer SIZE of the piece is amazing. And people say
size doesn't matter. :-D

Also, I wanted to ask people's opinions about this Burano collar. Think
it's real?

It has that beautiful milky ground, so I'm thinking it's real. What's the
going price on a collar like that? I don't have any Burano in my
collection and I'd like to get some.

If you can't be a good example, you'll just have to be a horrible warning.
