This is handmade needlelace in a large wearable collar about 100 years old. The current bid is ~$40, that's a great price. But I won't bid against you!
But the reserve ain't met, and who knows how high that is... Me, I like the "Vieux Flandre" collar/cape (same seller)

even better... The description is almost identical (except for size) to that of the Burano one, but there's a lot more bobbin lace in this one. The reserve ain't met on it either... It's probably just as well that 4+ her (all that's left ill the end of the auction) is not enough for me to learn how to participate; I'd be sorely tempted... :)
