Well, I am back from holidays, and catching up on digests. Glad Helen had a good ANZAC day - and a "Proper" meat pie to celebrate!!! :)) However, I see NO mention of St George's Day - April 23rd - and also Shakespeare's Birthday. You English are letting the side down - No Celebrations? There is a great bakery in the little fishing town we were staying in, run by an English family (well, they were English before they came to Oz!) and I went in and, while buying my usual loaf of (very) fresh bread, commented on the day, and said I wanted something very English to celebrate, and before I could place my order, she said "Eccles Cakes", - just what I was about to say,!! So we sat in the boat - DH fishing, and I worked on some needlework, and ate Eccles Cakes - and enjoyed them!! I have not had one for many years - and must have one more often!!! Tomorrow we must all dance around the Maypole, I suppose!!! Gosh! How quickly the year is flying by.
