Which book are you going to suggest? I own around 200 hundred books on bobbin lacemaking alone without those on needlelace, Carrickmacross, tambour lace, crochet, etc. Of the bobbin lacemaking ones at least 16 are basic instructions books, including the hideous 'Bobbin Lacemaking for Beginners' by Amy Dawson, which I've got just because it's so bad. The rest are specialising in different topics and types of lace, eg miniature lace, designing, Bedfordshire, Brugges, etc.
So choosing a book to ask a shop to stock even just from the basic ones would be difficult.
