Mushrooms have improved from the old field mushrooms that I used to collect with my grandmother when I was a child. You would have to peel the thick rough skin to remove all the imperfections and the little bugs that loved to eat them too. Now we buy the cultured mushrooms from the fruit and vege shop we don't have to compete with whatever was in the paddock.*g*
