I do try to use a pencil and write all the combination of numbers in the corners, sometimes I live dangerously and use a pen if it is to hand. Too lazy to hunt up the pencil. My supermarket carried some books but I dedcided not to buy one as it takes me too long to do the newspaper one sometimes. Today I got annoyed when I found that the number 2 could not go where I needed it!! I had used it already in that line. Aghh!! Can't say I have seen Karoake yet. Do you have to sing along with it. ;-) (Dont know how to draw a tongue in cheek) Janice

However, you really need to use a pencil with a rubber on the end and write ALL possibilities in each square. Then rub them out as you eliminate them. BTW - you can buy little booklets of these things at the newsagent. And there's now an even MORE addictive puzzle out called something like Karoake.
