Hi all,
I was chatting with my SIL last night, ans she mentioned that part of
her mother's family originated in England.

The family name is Southcombe, and they were in Rose Ash, near South
Molton in Devon. There were members of the family who were the vicars
for over a century at the church St Peter in Chains, in Rose Ash.
The family built a huge mansion on a farm named Honiton Braham (?), and
the house was named Honiton Hall.
Any lace connections there I wonder.. The reproduction of a photo she
has of the family coat of arms shows the arms have been placed on a
piece of lace, reminiscent of Torchon, but it was such a poor
reproduction of the photograph I could well be mistaken, all I could see
was that it was a very geometric lace behind the shield the arms were
mounted on.

Any one with any info, feel free to email directly.
By the way, they are going to be cruising in the northern hemisphere
this coming July, around the Baltic Sea area, and as far west as
Iceland. Can somebody please give me an indication of the temperatures
they might encounter.

Maxine - from a distinctly autumnal N.Z.
