My DH put another wrinkle into this thing. He told me that some screensavers can carry links back to the originator that monitor your computer activity. It may activate only with selected websites, but it still means someone is snooping. The thing we couldn't guess was what a battery company would be wanting to monitor.
This is not a statement that these screensavers have hidden things in them, just that it's a possibility.
