Do I need to carry my Passport with me all the

And where would you leave it?
When I went on a bike tour of England, I put my passport in
a sandwich bag, folded the bag in a bandanna, and tied the
bandanna around my waist. It was no trouble, and was right
there when I cashed a traveler's check. (Never mind the
embarrassment when the knot jammed . . . )
When we went to Australia, a bandanna would no longer span
my waist, but it wasn't needed. I'd taken up making my own
jeans by then, and all my slacks have two passport-sized
pockets that can be pinned closed. (I designed my pockets
to serve as a wallet when I don't want to carry my purse.)
